Let me start from the beginning.  I met Kevin the Summer of 2005.  He was a fly-fishing guide at Devil's Thumb Ranch in the Summer season and I had just started working at DTR (Devil's Thumb Ranch) that December, 2004.

I remember thinking how very handsome he was but didn't know his story.  With career being my main focus at this time, I really didn't give dating a chance and continued my lonely spiral life of "work and no play".

Jump ahead to September 2010.  I was in the middle of heavy group season when I had a visitor at my door one day.  It was Kevin who stopped by to say "thank you Jen".  He also gave me a big hug and with his deep and fabulously sounding voice said "you made my day and I wanted to make sure you heard it from me too.  The group you sent along to me had a great day of fly-fishing and it is so nice to work with you."

I was hooked on that hug. There is something very sexy about a visitor at your office door giving you a hug in fly-fishing gear. 

We got snowed out on our first date for fly-fishing and went out for dinner instead.  We went to Alberto's for a great dinner and wine.  The evening was perfect.  We were both very nervous since it had been a very long time for the both of us to date anyone.

Kevin had been talking about this special place he always went to think.  This was a place he mentioned starting in March/April of 2011.  He said it was very special to him and was a place of great internal thought and where he had made most of his life decisions when he was attending college in Boulder.

We had made arrangements to visit this place in July.  The official day was July 24th.

We made it a fabulous day with an early departure with about a 3 hour car ride on the Peak to Peak highway. Along the route we made a few pit stops; Porsche car rally parked in a grocery parking lot  for our viewing pleasure; visited the interesting town of Ward, where the Boulderites met the hippie nation, and Starbucks for the road.

When we arrived at our final destination it was time to eat, hang out and rest.  It was a wonderful hike to our lunch rock location and we found a quiet place to call our own for a couple hours.  We finished lunch and started snapping photos of our surroundings.

At this time, we had realized the day was perfect; great views, time with Chuck (our dog) and a perfect day together.

I proceeded to pose on lunch rock: (photo #3 above) Photo #2 was my photo of him just moments before he took my photo.

Kevin was taking the photo with my cell phone and decided he wanted a photo on his cell phone too.  He reached in his pocket and pulled out the ring box! 

Immediately I could tell that Kevin was nervous and my heart was up in my throat.  He graciouly asked me to "be his wife and make him an honest man" by saying "this Lake is where he made all of his life decisions and wanted to make his next life decision with me". 

He had been on one knee from taking the photo so he was positioned well. I had been on that posed rock with the photo taken above just seconds before the proposal.  We tried to stand and only kept each other upright by a HUG.

(Valid Passports, Certified birth Certificates w/seal, Divorce Decree Absolute (if applicable) Death certificate (if applicable), Single Status Form,)  Then you will be driven to the boat dock for your boat transfer over to Qamea (prepare to wade to the boat).
